Private by design
No account, no bank login, no ads, no analytics. Your numbers stay on your iPhone, behind Face ID if you like.
No sign-up, no login, no email address.
No server. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
Or Touch ID, with your passcode as a fallback.
Where your data lives
Everything you enter (transactions, accounts, categories, bills and budgets) is stored only on your iPhone. MoneyBook has no server, no account and no analytics, and it never asks for your bank login. It works fully offline.
Face ID lock
Lock MoneyBook with Face ID or Touch ID so your money stays yours. It uses your iPhone's own security: MoneyBook stores no separate code, and if Face ID doesn't work, your iPhone passcode does, so you can't get locked out by forgetting a PIN. Turn it on or off in Settings › Preferences.
Backups and moving phones
MoneyBook's data is included in your iPhone's own backup (iCloud or computer), like other app data, and that backup is controlled by you. To move to a new phone, restore it from your backup. MoneyBook doesn't sync between devices.
Export whenever you like
Go to Settings, then Export data (CSV), to get a file of all your transactions that opens in Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets. You choose where it goes. Deleting the app deletes its data, so export first if you want a copy.
The one thing it checks online
To tell you when an update is out, the app reads a tiny file on the MoneyBook website at most once a day that says which version is current. Nothing about you or your money is sent. Read the full privacy policy.
Questions
Does MoneyBook connect to my bank?
No. There is no bank connection and no login. You log what you spend yourself, which also keeps you aware of it.
Is MoneyBook free?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no ads and no subscription. Optional one-time tips unlock nothing.
